Real home kitchens
Not pop-ups. Not restaurants. Actual home chefs cooking from their own kitchens, sharing recipes that have crossed continents and generations.

Homemade × Tasty Walk · Amsterdam
A walk through Amsterdam's home kitchens. Five chefs open their doors, share what their grandmothers taught them, and let you taste a city most visitors never meet.
Five doorbells
Five home chefs ring you in, one neighborhood at a time.
Recipes with a passport
Dishes carried from Damascus, Lagos, Surabaya — cooked in Amsterdam kitchens.
A walk, then a meal shared
Every seat at our table funds a hot meal for a neighbour who needed one.
The Story
In every Amsterdam neighborhood, there's a home chef cooking recipes their grandmother taught them — flavors carried across continents, perfected over generations, and rarely found on any restaurant menu.
These are Amsterdam's home chefs — and they're cooking some of the city's best food, right now, from their own kitchens.
Tasty Walk pioneered the culinary walking experience in the Netherlands during 2021, with over 70,000 participants discovering their cities one bite at a time. Now, we're proposing the next evolution: not restaurants, but real homes.
The Concept
Pick a route, walk between five home chef stops at your own pace, and taste a signature bite at each one. No fixed order. No tour guide. Just discovery.

Not pop-ups. Not restaurants. Actual home chefs cooking from their own kitchens, sharing recipes that have crossed continents and generations.

Start at any chef. Visit them in any order. Take three hours or take all afternoon. The walk adapts to you, not the other way around.

Routes through neighborhoods most tourists never see — Indische Buurt, Nieuw-West, the multicultural heart of the city.

Every seat at the table feeds someone else. Your ticket pays the chefs directly and funds Sharing a Meal — turning a single afternoon in the city into a hot meal for a stranger who needed one.
The Routes
Each route blends home kitchens with the streets, canals and stories that make Amsterdam worth walking. We're building them slowly, with chefs and locals — not all at once.

Five home chefs across Landlust, De Baarsjes, Overtoomse Veld and Nieuw-West — Bangladeshi, Mexican, Indian, Syrian and more, all in one afternoon.
